Something for their nervous system...

The Gift of Presence

The holidays are often a whirlwind of lists and logistics, but they also offer a rare permission to slow down. I personally love the excuse to lean into my creativity this time of year, retreating to the kitchen with an ambitious list of holiday cookies I aspire to bake and share as gifts. There is a special joy in offering something handmade that supports nourishment and comfort—whether that’s a batch of wholesome treats or the gift of a more easeful body.

But as much as I love the process of creating something tangible, I know that the most lasting gifts aren't always the ones you can wrap. Sometimes, the most meaningful thing you can offer is an invitation to inhabit one’s body with more comfort and a deeper, more quiet connection with oneself.

If you are looking for a last minute gift, I've curated some favorite digital courses perfect for gifting, including a new compilation of restorative practices. It’s a great way to help someone start their new year feeling grounded, flexible, and truly cared for.

All courses, classes, and 1:1 sessions are digitally gift-able. This means you are able to schedule an email to your loved one to be delivered at the perfect time. The email will give them all the details of the gift you have purchased for them. There are many options for beginners and experienced movers alike. They can practice in their pajamas, on their own schedule, at their own pace.

There is a story often told about the anthropologist Margaret Mead. When a student asked her what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture, they expected her to say a clay pot, a fishhook, or a grinding stone. Instead, she reportedly held up a healed femur bone. In the animal kingdom, a broken leg is a death sentence. You cannot run from danger, you cannot get to the river for a drink, and you cannot hunt for food. You are meat for prowling predators. A femur bone that...
